Owner / Developer of Web Based Application: The application values jewelry for insurance carriers to screen appraisals prior to scheduling and estimate current replacement costs and provide a network of resources to conduct replacements.  The application is also a comprehensive on line appraisal package that is customizable.  It calculates weights and values based on both GIA AGS grading systems.  It is voluntarily compliant with USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice), ISA (International Society of Appraisers) and ASA (American Society of Appraisers), and the NAJA (National Association of Jewelry Appraisers) report writing standards .

 

Owner / Operator Jewelry Business: Third generation jeweler specializing in jewelry design in 14 karat, 18 karat and platinum; custom jewelry; wax carving; silver hand fabrication; buying and selling of diamonds, colored gems and mounted goods; hiring, supervision, and evaluation of all personnel, including review and implementation of all benefits; research and selection of all expenditures including equipment, software, furniture etc.; contract and  lease negotiations and approval;  bookkeeping; review  and evaluation of reports including financials; marketing including identifying markets, developing and implementing plans; appraising; insurance replacements; conducting training for insurance adjustors and agents in jewelry replacement including, including formerly conducting the Tri-State training for State Farm Insurance; consulting for insurance companies, attorneys, and private parties pertaining to jewelry related issues regarding divorce, estate and insurance disputes; mediation; arbitration; deemed to be an expert witness in Denver District Court.

 

Chief Probation Officer- Assessed existing court system, designed and implemented the municipal level Probation Department, Aurora, Colorado.  Developed and presented proposal accepted by City Council, implementation including: creating Stipulations for Deferred Prosecution and Deferred Judgment, creating Court Orders for Probation, conducting Presentence Investigations, making recommendations to the court for sentencing, designing Standard and Special Terms and Conditions, screening applicants for Diversionary programs for the City Attorney, supervision of probationers, designing and conducting Bond Hearings, attending all Probation Department court appearances, acting as liaison to outside support agencies and Police Department,  wrote toxic vapor municipal ordinance, Police Academy trainer, designing and conducting special programs such a Shoplifter Offender Program, counseling probationers. Creating personnel requirements and hiring process for professional and administrative staff, conducting hiring, supervision and evaluation. Developing and presenting annual departmental budget request.   Speaker regarding municipal level probation services at Colorado State Judges conference. Served on the board of the Colorado Association of Probation Officers for five years.

 

Researcher, Colorado Department of Corrections- conducted research at the Department of Correction, Colorado Springs, Colorado and Colorado State Penitentiary Maximum Security Unit, Canon City, Colorado, and responded to interrogatories on behalf of the Department of Corrections for the Ramos Class Action Law Suit, including periodic briefings with the Colorado Attorney Generals Office.

 

Probation Officer/Bailiff -Assessed existing court system, developed and implemented the municipal level Probation Department, Commerce City, Colorado.

Conducted Presentence Investigations and supervision of probationers, executed courtroom Bailiff responsibilities.

 

Art Therapy - Assisted in developing the Art Therapy Institute, Scottsdale Arizona, and assisted in administration of art therapy at Camelback Mental Hospital.
